Saint Clare of Assisi became a saint due to her devotion to a life of poverty, prayer, and charity. She founded the Order of Poor Ladies (also known as the Poor Clares) and lived a life dedicated to serving others, especially the poor and marginalized. Her holiness, selflessness, and miracles attributed to her intercession led to her canonization as a saint in the Catholic Church.

She was probably canonized a Saint because God allowed miracles to happen through her before and after her death. The Church only declares people Saints when miracles occur through them before and after their death. It is like God's way of saying that He wants them to be Saints because they led an extraordinary life of sacrifice and devotion to Him, so He is allowing them to intercede for us and miracles happen through them.
Because she lived such a holy and pious life, St. Calre of Assisi was canonized a saint on September 26,1255, by Pope Alexander IV.
