Why did Sora say 'the six of us' when he said 'me you guys Riku and the King' before changing his clothes in Yen Sid's Tower in Kingdom Hearts 2?

Sora says, "Me, you guys, Riku, and the King. With the five of us - I mean, six of us - there's nothing to worry about. Right?"

Whenever something curious like this happens in the Kingdom Hearts series, we have to understand that it's for a deeply profound purpose. The sixth person is definitely not Jiminy or Xion, because that would be totally irrelevant or insignificant.

Sora could be referring to Kairi or Ven (which make more sense than Jiminy), but Kairi doesn't sound like a good-enough answer to satisfy the curiosity that Sora's quote arouses. The answer has to be the kind that makes you go "Oh, I get it!" upon discovering the answer; that's how Kingdom Hearts is. Also, since Ventus doesn't even exist in KH2 as much as Roxas, Sora is most likely referring to Roxas subconsciously. Throughout the game, Roxas' memory reoccurs, such as the Organization calling Sora Roxas and Sora somehow knowing that Roxas is the guy in the Twilight Town photo with Hayner, Pence, and Olette. These signs make Roxas a very significant entity connected to Sora, and that Sora remembers Roxas' existence.

The one thing none of us gets is why neither Donald nor Goofy asked Sora what he meant by saying "six" instead of "five." Donald just concurred immediately with a "Yeah!"
