to kill them
Spartans, like many Ancient Greeks, were obsessed with appearances. Men were supposed to grow up to be strong and good-looking. Likewise, woman were supposed to be healthy enough to bear children and at the same time be beautiful. Spartans were so obsessed with this image that they would inspect newborns to ensure that the babies would grow up to be strong and able citizens. Any baby that was seen as being weak or had any sort of birth defect was thrown into the Apothetae.
Because of the infant's weak/deformed physical nature. But there are many version of 'excuses' in this case. (Or something like that.) Additional: Most likely, the infants were thrown into, (I don't know if there was a pit or cave), a certain mountain called Mt.Taytarus.
Life in Sparta was very different than from life in Athens. Sparta was an oligarchy meaning that it was only run by a few people, tarnishing hopes on other Spartans to serve in the government. On the other hand, Athens was a very democratic city state as each citizen had the right to serve. Also, Spartans believed in win or death but to never to surrender, as they were a very militaristic city state. By age 10, all boys were obliged to go through physical labor at strengthening camps, just to be strong enough in order to win wars at age 30 through age 60. During the process, kids were separated from their families at a very young age, and almost starved by the amount of food they were served at the camps. Women also had to be physically fit and it was a law for them to play tough sports, in order to give birth to strong babies. All weak babies would be terminated! Spartans lacked in amount of trade, and were not very skilled in science and education. In ancient Athens, people didn't really go through any physical labor since it was more of a time in peace. They were skilled in other areas such as education. All boys learned reading, writing, arithmetic, science, and an instrument called the Lyrre. On the other hand, girls did not learn very much, as they only learned household duties from their mothers indicating they didn't go to school. Athenians also had developed a good skill of trading, and also had a fair government, which was very different from Sparta. All in all, Sparta and Athens were two very unique city-states... Which side would you pick?
Hades is a ancient Greece god. Hades rules in the underworld also known as the land of the dead. There are no reasons why Hades would be weak. He isn't in the underworld because he was bad or weak or anything like that, but because he lost when they randomly picked who would have to go to the underworld. There are no myths about Hades being weak. Though there are many who explains how powerful, cruel and merciless he is. No, Hades is probably not weak, but "strong".
Spartans were fierce and warlike people. They didn't have fine building. The city was more than a village. Every new baby was examined, if it looked weak it was left outside to die. A boy started his training as a soldier at the age of eleven. He spent most of his time as a full time soldier, living away from his family. Spartan girls had to have strong bodies so that they could be the mother of strong soldiers.
yes they do because if they are not strong enough to get to their village by them self they are not strong enough
no
no only if the baby is deformed or weak
The Spartans were the only ancient Greek race to kill weak babies. The Athenians did not.
Yes, and they were either thrown off a cliff or drowned. They figured the weak were no use to Sparta because its main focus was its military. Yes, if the babies were weak or sick, they would be dropped off a cliff or turned into a helot, a slave to the Spartans. Spartans only looked for strong babies for their military. If the baby was weak or deformed, it would be no use because they proved a weak spot in the phalanx. They needed someone to watch their allies backs while maintaining form.
cause babies are too weak and old ppl r to weak 2
Becuse, at times humans come and touch the child when the mother is away, then the mother thinks it is not theirs so they leave them,or at times it is when the mother want them to live on there own

They cant, their Spartans A child would be deemed weak if there was some short of birth defect or mental retardation that would prevent the child from serving in the Sparta army when growing up.
Not all babies will survive until they can reproduce. Thus, natural selection allows only the strongest to live and reproduce, eliminating the weaker babies to make more weak babies.
this is my
In Varberg, where he got weak and unable to leave.
