No they did not. At the outbreak of WW2 in 1939 the US was operating under a political system known as "isolationism", basically they didn't see a war in Europe as their problem. It was only after the Japanese attacks on Midway and Pearl Harbour that the US decided to join the Allied forces and fight in WW2

Stalin was the leader of the Russians between 1922-1953 and was a fan of communism. Hitler was completeley different. He was the leader of the Nazi party in Germany, and was one of the key elements of WW2. He killed himself when the Allies won the war.
