Stalin did not start the "Warsaw revolution". It was the Polish Underground Army that started the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 and when second front was created Poles believed, that rusians ,who was so close would help them, as well as western forces.Unfortunately, no one helped, remember that was a 1 month of fighting, with help of children, scouts and underground insurgents. At that time people fought for freedom,as they remembered how they was treated couple years before, so that is why Polish people was so brave as they fought for their country exsistment, freedom and life.

You have to understand that Poland got their independence in 1920,after 200 years annexations and 1st world war.Poland wasn't a country for Germans and Russians - Poland was a weak land to overtake. For western countries was a colony, without any strategic values except land.It was always a trading card for England and France given to Hitler to go east, and fight with Stalin power as they was weak after 1st world war.

Russians and Germans was natural enemies of Polish people, and during IIWW Poland wasn't treated differently.17.09.1939 Russian invaded Poland. Not helped to fight Germans.

But i don't want to describe whole IIWW.

Stalin found Warsaw revolution as a destructive process aimed against Russians as Polish wouldn't want his help.So he made some "strategic moves" where polish army from outside Warsaw who wanted to help was forced to charge vistula river, and drown, and acctualy waiting until is finished so Russians can be seen as liberation.

wikipedia describes it more.
