they either froze or fried
Basically there are 3 theories, in order of most believed:
Environmental Changes - the climate started to warm up which disrupted ecosystems
Humans - they became more populated and killed animals for food
Diseases - Infectious Diseases were so fatal that whole species could easily become extinct
Some people believe in a combination of these.
The reason is because the Ice Age animals were born with warm bodies and fur.
At one point in time the sun heated up the earth then melted the snow. The animals died of over heating. Technically they got over heated because of their warm coats for extremely cold weather made them too and they died.
I'M NOT EVEN SURE IF ANY OF THIS INFORMATION IS TRUE!!!!!!!!THIS IS FROM AN OPINION FROM A 13 YEAR OLDThere are many theories that may have happened.
1. At the end of the ice age, there would have been a major climate change. This would have dramatically affected the ecosystems. Some of the large megafauna wasn't able to adapt and therefor became extinct.
2. Another possible theory is a 'plague' that wiped them out. However, I think this is a relatively unlikely theory.
3. Another theory is that they were over hunted by humans.
It also may have been a combination of the theories above.
The ice melted and most of the animals died
they ran very fast!
hyperthermia
Hundreds of species died out at the end of the last ice age but it was mainly the largest animals that suffered, Mammoths, Mastodons, Dire Wolves, Artodus, European Lions, Cave Bears, European Hyenas etc.
When humans become extinct.
Like many ice age species, it became extinct at the end of the Pleistocene Epoch 16,500 years ago.
If I read this correctly you call them extinct.
the Pleistocene Megafauna 'saber tooth tiger 'mamoth ' there is a kind of sloth but i forget what its called and some very small dinos that lived
Im dr phill
The trilobites went extinct during the mass extinction at the end of the Permian period.
they havent gone extinct they have just evolved into humans
When did domestication of animals begin? The answer is at the end of the old stone age and the beginning of the new stone age.
The glossopteris was a seed fern that was shaped like a tongue. The glossopteris became extinct about 252 million years ago, at the end of the Permian era.
All saber-tooth mammals lived between 33.7 million and 9,000 years ago. The Saber Tooth Tiger lived during the end of the Quaternary Period, and during the Ice Age, and could be found all over the world. It was thought to have become extinct because of the rising sea levels at the end of the Ice Age which covered the tigers' environment. It went extinct because of the temperature changes. It became extinct after the last ice age, because its habitat changed from woodland to grassy plains, and being a heavily built ambush predator, it was unsuited to the new environment, and was unable to adapt to it fast enough to survive as a species.many years before a sable tooth tiger got excint
The ice age began at the end of the Jurassic period, a theory of why the dinosaurs became extinct. <33
