Anyone who has lost someone they loved will know what he was feeling. The over whelming grief consumes all, the thought that how can anyone laugh or the sun shine when my heart is breaking so. I'ts a lovely poem and one of my favorites.

Tks, you have beautifully expressed the sentiment of this touching poem.

W. H. Auden wrote the poem "Stop all the clocks" as a response to the death of his friend and fellow poet, Christopher Isherwood's lover, Chester Kallman. The poem expresses a deep sense of grief and loss, using the imagery of stopping time to reflect the emotional devastation of losing a loved one.
