The Boston massacre was when the colonist were calling the red coats lobster backs and the Commander there said do not fire their guns but the did not hear it right so there was a killing of 5 people that day. That is why it is called the Boston massacre. Three civilians were shot and killed and a day later two more people were killed by a stabbing not a shooting.

I think that it was called the Boston Massacre because, well, it took place in Boston, and it took the name of a massacre because of propaganda uses and also because some people were killed. I am happy to give out this information and I hope we can all find a good use for it.

Two reason # People were actually killed in the riot # The patriots wanted more people to come to their side of thinking so if they named it a massacre then stronger emotions would be aroused.

The Boston Massacre took place in Boston, MA. It was categorized as a "Massacre" because of Propaganda. It was a horrible misfortune for the colonists, along with Crispus Attucks and his family. Who's Crispus Attucks? I can tell you, but that doesn't matter with this question. :)

The Boston Massacre was probably called a massacre after the colonies saw the engraving of the Boston massacre drawn by a son of liberty Paul Revere.
