In general terms (as a rule of thumb):A recession is a decline in GDP for two or more quarters consecutively.A depression is a decrease in GDP of 10% or more in any given year. Therefore, a depression is more severe than a recession.
I don't think it does, if you don't think we are not in a depression now. What do you call a depression? We are in a depression now. This depression may be worse than the Roosevelt depression. General Motors just went bankrupt. So did Chrysler. Big banks have failed. The main difference in the Roosevelt depression and the Obama depression is, this time Obama may collapse the dollar and bankrupt the US government. Roosevelt stole the peoples gold. I know, you think that must be a lie. Right? Look it up. What is it that Obama wants to steal? My guess is your IRA account. We will see. I hope you didn't have any General Motors stock in your IRA account.
Yes. If the government does not alleviate the cause of the failure, it will likely absorb economic resources and causes inefficiences/deadweight social loss which will only make things worse (aka - more costly). Examples: the Great Depression; Germany hyperinflation of the 1920s.
Unemployment rates were high because it was the Great Depression. There was a huge economic downfall through out the whole world. Also the weather (in America) had taken a turn for the worse destroying agriculture which in turn made grown food too expensive to plant which caused farmers to lose both their jobs and their land.
It depends on how you look at it. Many will say it is going great others will say it is getting worse. It all depends on how you look on it, looking on here however, will most likely confuse you.
in about 180 days we will be in the worse of the worse.. so yes we will be in a great depression..
I did.
The drought in the west, known as the Dust Bowl, exacerbated the Great Depression in several ways. It led to widespread crop failures, destroyed farmland, and caused massive dust storms, which displaced many farmers and their families. These conditions worsened the economic hardship already experienced during the Great Depression, as it reduced agricultural output, caused food shortages, and created massive unemployment in rural areas.
Well we are not in a depression with Obama the only reason the economy is like this is because of our 43 president Bush So Roosevelts depression ended up worse because they were actually in a depression. You can thank Bush for the economic troubles
if a drought gets worse then you will be limited on your water
How did a drought got worse over the time?
It made everything worse!~Like nowadays
They arent man you arent thinking the same thing the depression is worse man dude dude dude dude you are thinking of the depression and the crash in the government7
China was severely affected by the Great Depression. The economic status of the country become worse and the general cost of living become unbearable.
it was brought out by world war II, but most people want to think the war just made the depression worse.
Franklin Roosevelt did not get the US out of the great depression he streached out the depression and made it worse. We may be in for a very long depression if Obama tries to do the same things that Roosevelt did. Look how long the Roosevelt depression lasted.
they feared it would make things worse
