In Arizona and California, it is entirely possible that store-bought Fireworks are being made illegal due to the danger of Wildfires in those areas. Frankly, the last thing the local fire authorities need is one more source of ignition.
Most fireworks contain chemical compounds that could also be used in the construction/production of I.E.Ds or Improvised Explosive Devices, this may also explain why possession and/or use of Fireworks is being banned in some areas.
Of course, to my knowledge, "Black Market" fireworks have always been illegal. That's another matter entirely.
Hope this helps.
Fireworks are, quite simply, dangerous. Add to that Australia's bushfire problem, and it is just common sense to make them illegal. Too many people would set them off wherever they wanted to, potentially resulting in catastrophic bushfires.
Because when you get right down to it, they are EXPLOSIVES, and are required to be handled with great care or serious injury or death could occur due to their mishandling.
Most laws are passed to promote public safety and/or reduce public liability. Several locations that outlaw fireworks, yet their city hires someone to handle a 4th of July fireworks display, then it gets out of hand, and a hillside goes up in smoke. The flora and fauna are difficult at best to replace, the lives of the firefighters are endangered (for a fireworks show!) and the city gets a negative image to spend money fixing.
Heres my theory. I think they should be illegal to be handeled from ages 17 and lower. I think you need to be 18 or older to handel and they should bust down when they hear fireworks to make sure that they are old enough, because way to many people on this earth get hurt these days with fireworks. That is just my opinion though.
no no no 17 is way to high! so you trust people to start driving at the age of 15 but you don't like the idea of them off fireworks at the age of 15? well i think they have to be at least 15 to be legal to shoot them off, but with supervision (at least 20). then legal to shoot them off at 18 with out supervision.
why do fireworks explode
wants the get to the top
Because it's a celebration and just like new years celebrations the day deserves fireworks.
Because some idiot blew his fingers off with Firecrackers in nc.
Fireworks in Ohio are illegal because they are dangerous and they could hurt or maybe kill you and it could cause a uncontrollably fire.

Yes, they are legal, but only the local fireworks being sold nearby. Missile and projectile style firework are illegal. If you have illegal fireworks, well, just keep in mind that if you use them, consequences may be imprisonment. Ask the local fire marshal for specifics on legal and illegal fireworks. I live in Monterey Park.
