Harriet Tubman was very.... determined I should say. During the civil war the slavery didn't pause, stop, anything. Slavery was still going when the war was just beginning. During that time Harriet saved over 15,000 slaves! Now, coming from a 6th grader in Southeastern Kentucky that's what I learned about her. I may not have all of the details so you might wanna go to ask.com for more info. It will take you to here. But when it brings up all of the sites. Go to the one that is JUST about Harriet Tubman. That will give you a whole dang report! It works the best. TRUST ME! I did a report on her. That site is AWESOME!

Harriet Tubman wanted to be free. But when she was free, she became an abolitionist. She wanted to stop slavery and free others who couldn't ecscape on their own. Plus she once got a free cupake out of it
Since the underground railroad wasn't a real railroad, but a method for slaves to escape north there wasn't a conductor. Some times people like Harriet Tubman would lead people, but many times they were just told what the next stop was until they got north.
Tubman began as a slave who escaped to freedom, but instead of leaving other slaves behind she helped 300 people escape with the Underground Railroad. She had a head injury and that didn't stop her. All of her life she stood up for her convictions and her values. This is her lesson that if we can stand up for the things we believe in and do what is right our lives will have purpose and reason. Not to give up despite the hardships that life brings.
