Germany's hyper-inflaton was caused by Germany printing extra money that was worthless :)
^Sounds like the Unites States.
The problem wasn't fully solved until 1948 when the US introduced the deutschemark which was far more stable as it was tied to the US dollar.
Coal is valuable and it was especially so back then. And it was a hit to Germany that everyone wanted.
In fact, the inflation was stopped and the currency stabilized in 1923-24. It involved massive deflation and was successful.
# France and Belgium occupied the Ruhr, Germany's industrial heartland in January 1923. The Germans responded with a general strike in the occupied area. # The German currency, which had already lost 96% of its value since 1914, suffered hyperinflation later that year - culminating in an average daily inflation rate of 26% from August-November. # In November 1923 there was the attempt by Hitler and Ludenforff to overthrow the government of Bavaria as the first step in taking over the German government by force.

Those dates are not correct. In 1923 Germany had hyper-inflation, and Hitler and Ludendorff thought the public would support their beer-hall coup. They didn't, and Hitler was jailed. It was the Wall Street crash of 1929 that caused the depression. In the UK, it was at its worst from 1930-34. In the USA, it went deeper and lasted till 1940. In Germany, it was so bad that Hitler did get voted in - with consequences we all know.
