for protection
Knights started wearing plate armor for better protection against arrows and weapons in battle. This armor increased their defense but also reduced their mobility. Additionally, plate armor allowed knights to display their status and wealth.
Mail armor is worn by warriors and paladins from when they first start until level 40 when they get access to plate armor. Shaman and hunters wear leather until 40 when they get access to mail armor. Although Death Knights start at 55 and therefore start in plate armor, they can wear mail armor, although that probably isn't a good idea as DK's are melee and need the armor to survive. No other class is allowed to wear mail armor.
You start with mail if you are a Plate-wearing class, such as Warrior or Paladin. Death Knights start with plate as they start at a higher level. You get mail at level forty (40) if you are a leather-upgrading-to-mail class, such as Shaman and Hunter. Classes that start with only cloth or leather without an option to upgrade will never have mail armor, including Warlock, Druid, and Priest.
Shaman and Hunters can wear mail when they reach level 40 and train at the trainer for it. Paladins and Warriors start out as wearing mail, but at 40, turn to plate armor. Death Knights start in plate armor, but can wear mail, although, probably shouldnt, it would be a downgrade. Mage, warlock, priest, druids, rogues can never wear mail armor.
In World of Warcraft, Death Knights get their epic armor the same time everyone else does....when they purchase it with gold or honor. Death Knights start out with RARE armor (blue quality) that they get from their starter quests. Once they leave the starting zone, they can start relacing that armor, but most if not all of it will be viable all the way up until they reach Northrend.
by getting to level 5 or doing quick match with your character wearing the armor you want at the start you make your profile and that's the only way to use the armor.
a squire is basically a knight in training, knights start as paiges (pages not certain) who were basically servants to the knights, later they became squires; usually helping knights with their gear (armor, weapons, assissting in battle), and eventually became knights
once u start get higher in level bandits and random bad guys will start wearing it
Blacksmiths start out making low end mail armor and work their way up to plate armor. They also can make keys to unlock most doors and lockboxes and can make weight and sharpening stones.
firstly, because it offers greater protection than mail/maille as its rigid, and so was more protective of vulnerable kneecaps (the first part of the body to be protected by plates), and elbows. Secondly, plate was less time consuming to produce compared to mail, where tens of thousands of links would have to each be assembled and locked together by hand. That saving in time eventually made plate more cost-effective.
Some facts on knights are that knights wear a scarf and a viel to impress the ladies. Another fact on knights is that the way they jousted is the oringanal shootout and it was the start of the rifle.if knights were good at combat, they would be rewarded with chicken dipped in cheese. Some knights wore nothing underneath their armor because they thought it would make them sweat less & it was easier to move aroundknights didnt want squires, they were forced to have them because their lords forced them too.
Only certain classes are allowed to wear mail armor. Warriors and paladins start out in mail armor, until level 40 when they train to wear plate. Hunters and Shaman can wear armor starting at level 40 by going to their class trainer and learning the ability.
