It could actually be number of things.... as long as you yourself didn't over charge it. More than likely it's something overcharging your battery. The first thing I would do is get your alternator tested. Most commonly that is the problem.

I have heard that some chryslers have computer problems overcharging the battery also, not sure what model you have tho.

Are gas cars better than battery cars?

Well....gas cars run until the gas runs out but it takes a while with a 30 gal. tank. You don't have to refuel as much. Where battery cars have to recharge every night. battery cars are better for the earth (global warming i guess :P) but over all you have to look at it and see i would say that i don't really know. I gave you some ideas to think about. :D

About four week ago you replaced an old battery that was leaking acid Now your new battery is leaking acid is it just a bad battery or could something else be causing the new battery to leak?

Leaking from where on the battery, the caps? If so the charging system may be over charging the battery and causing the acid to boil out. Could be a voltage regulator problem.

Is there enough energy stored in a battery to boil a kettle of water?

It depends on the battery and the size of the kettle. It also depends on the starting temperature of the water and the air pressure, if you are at higher altitude or lower air pressure it takes less energy to boil the water, and also if the water starts at a higher temperature it takes less energy to boil. Definitely some batteries have enough energy. You'd have to calculate the amount of energy required to boil the water and look at the amp hour measurement on the battery, that tells you the total energy stored in the battery.
