Pirates ate what was given them and they liked it or they got tossed overboard. They mostly got cheap food that was easy to preserve on a long trip, like ham. Ya' got it now, swab?

We don't have salty food for breakfast in France. (no cheese, ham, eggs or bacon), our breakfast is very fast and nothing sophisticated or cooked, some people don't eat, just drink. We dont eat too much for breakfast (our main meal is lunch). We may drink: chocolate, milk, tea, coffee or fruit juice, and we can eat: croissants et viennoiseries, bread and jam, nutella or cereals (kids), biscuits, fruits, cream cheese or yogurt. We eat ham (jambon) for lunch or dinner. The most common is the " Jambon de Paris", you can have it cooked, braised, dryed, smocked ham and there are a lot of regions where they make different, delicious and reputed kind of ham, they can be very expensive too.
they drink:cola, coffee, rum, milk, and beer. they eat: lots of meat, white bread, cheese, ham, and lots of fruit!!!:)
well what they they had to eat was mock everything really: mock goose, mock ham and even mock bread
They ate simple things, such as bread, cheese, ham and drank ale because water was poisoned in those times.
earl sandwich was eating ham so he put it in between two slices of his Friends bread ,while they where playing cards, so he put the ham in between the pieces of bread so he could play cards with one hand and eat ham, without getting his fingers greasy, in the other hand.
