at the end of chain of memories when diz appears at the cross roads i front of riku and mickey. he says choose light or dark. riku says neither. diz says its the way to night. riku says no its the way to dawn.

I am assuming that you are trying to ask who Riku is friends with? If so, Riku's best friends are Sora and Kairi. Also he becomes good friends with King Mickey. On Destiny Islands, he, Sora, and Kairi are friends with some other kids whose names are Wakka, Selphie, and Tidus. I am not sure if Riku and Namine are friends. I suppose you could also say that Riku became friends with DiZ, who is the real Ansem.

DiZ wanted Sora to become whole again so that Sora could defeat Organization XIII, but this was impossible if Roxas was still active in the Organization.
