He did it because he was an entrepreneur who saw a new business to operate. He wanted to do something that could give back to the community and help a younger generation out. The continued mission statement of Sam's club is "Sam's Club supports community-based programs that empower young people, families and small businesses to make smart choices that lead to healthy and bright futures.
