They went to live in the high country (which is modern day Canada) because that’s where the beaver pelts were. They traded the First Nations for beaver pelts and it’s better to live where your source is. I hope this helped!😁
Back in the time of King Louis XIV he legalized anyone to trade furs with the First Nations peoples o Canada.(1663) So then so many came over because they thought that they could e that guy who made a difference, but then eventually New France was bringing in 18x the amount of pelts than they needed, so then the king at the time illegalized coureurs des bois, because then New France was venerable to attacks from the English. So basically they came over to be coureurs des bois, when it was legalized, they got screwed over when it was banned because of venerability.
Hope this helps!!!
Because the environment in the high country is so good and attractive.

"Hey! What country do you live in?" is an English equivalent of the French phrase Hé! Tu vis dans quel pays? The question translates literally as "Hey! You live in what country?" or "Hey! You live in which country?" The pronunciation will be "ey tyoo vee daw kel pey-ee" in French.
as terrible as it is, it depends on what country you live in.
