They thought the US would outlaw slavery and they wanted slaves, so they went to TX, but Mexico also began the process to outlaw slavery. Many Texans fought the civil war and those in the Union army who believed in slavery would wear the union belt buckle upside down as a sign to others.
Beginning about 1821 after the Mexicans gained Independence from Spain.
Because Mexico And Native Americans owned the land before the Americans came around
No. Texas used to be part of Mexico, until America stole it from the Mexicans in a war that we Americans started for a tiny, stupid reason. After we won, we tried to settle Texas. The native Mexicans saw it correctly to be an invasion, and they didn't want Americans in their home.
Because they want too.
i dont know :}P
because they did not want to except Texas's' annexation
Those Americans were against Texas becoming independent from U.S since they didnt want to become part of the U.S.
One reason that some Americans opposed the annexation of Texas was that they didn't want to go war with Mexico. Another reason was that it would change the balance between states that had slavery and those that didn't.
