2 Corinthians 11:23
Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again.
Please read the epistle for a complete understanding.
Thomas the Apostle is traditionally believed to have been a fisherman before becoming one of the twelve apostles of Jesus.
the Apostle Paul who was not one of the original 12 Apostles and the Apostle John, as well as the other Apostles and disciples, missionaries and church planters.
All the apostles were special. However, St. Andrew has the distinction of being the first apostle chosen by Our Lord.
Jesus passed the bread to the Apostles sitting close to him, who inturn passed to the other Apostles.
The apostle Thomas first failed to believe that the other disciples had seen Jesus after he was crucified. But as he refused to believe them, he is refered to as the doubting Thomas.
We know very little about the life of Philip. While several of the apostles were related to each other or even cousins of Our Lord, Philip appears to not have been related to either Our Lord or any of the other apostles.
Yes, Philip the Apostle was indeed from Bethsaida in Galilee. He is often referred to as "Philip of Bethsaida" to distinguish him from the other Philip mentioned in the Bible.

The Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) have people they call "apostles". Other movements may similarly call someone that is still living an "apostle". You'll have to decide for yourself whether such people have any relationship with the apostles that followed Jesus Christ about 2000 years ago - if that's what you are after.
Revelation 21:14, "And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb." I believe the twelfth apostles is Matthias as he was a disciple/apostles of the LAMB during the building of the Gospel church. Paul followed some time later. Some people sort of discount Matthias as he is only mentioned as a replacement of Judas, but God counted him as an apostle (Acts 1:23-26) Matthias is only mentioned in this portion of Scripture, but some of the other apostles are only mentioned once.
