To write down the Hindu religious texts called "Vedas" which where only spoken before and obviously changed slightly every generation the stories where passed down and it is believed that a Veda was lost. Writing them down prevented any further loss or change. Sanskrit is the language they spoke, they used the Tibetan alphabet first an developed devanagari later. Devanagari is still used today in Punjabi, Hindi, and various other languages descended from Sanskrit.

The Aryans developed the writing system called Sanskrit to help preserve their religious texts and hymns, known as the Vedas. Sanskrit was considered a sacred language, and writing down these texts ensured their accurate transmission and preservation over generations. It also provided a means for recording other important knowledge and literature.
