The significance of the Olive Branch petition was meant to be to end the war with a peaceful conclusion. Since King George never bothered to read the petition it only made him more angry. Maybe his anger was his weakness. Maybe that was why we won the war. Anyway, the petition that should have been only made the war more severe and has no significance that I can recall.
