The French colonies were less of a threat than British colonizers. The French had mostly small outposts of trappers and traders. The British colonies had exploded in population since their establishment and were clearly looking to expand into lands that the Native Americans currently occupied. The style of British colonies did not have any place for Native Americans.

This was clear when the British commander in charge of fighting the French, General Braddock, was asked by Shingas (a local leader of the Delaware Indians) whether the tribes who allied with Britain would be allowed to live and trade with the English and have land of their own. General Braddock replied that "No Savage Should Inherit the Land"

The french expected the Indians to side with them because the french unlike the British were not trying to conquer them and take away there land also since John Rolfe married pochantas more french men were marrying native American women this made the relationship between the french and native Americans stronger because the french were learning the native American way of life.
The French had a long term good relationship at working with the Native Americans.
The French befriended the Indians because of their brotherly-like treatment towards them and the fur trade, and the Indians were willing to fight to preserve their land.

The Iroquois Indians helped the French capture many British forts during the war. They also helped ambush British forces. The British may have had help from Indians also, but I'm not sure.

How did the patriot's victory in the American revolution affect native Americans?

Though the Native Americans who had supported the Patriots were pleased with the victory, the Natives who had not were in danger, as the Americans were very angry at them. Many Native Americans had supported the British in the American Revolution; not only because the British treated Natives much more civilly than the colonists did, but because Natives viewed the British as weaker and less dangerous than Colonials. If the British won, many tribes reasoned, it would be easier to force whites out of America once and for all.It left them vulnerable to the Americans hunger for land

Why did native Americans support the french in the early years of the French and Indian War?

To many tribes, especially those of the Ohio River Valley, the French did not pose a threat to their way of life. French trappers and traders did not establish the kind of intrusive settlements that English colonists did, which were rapidly displacing native tribes from their hunting grounds.
