Why did the Olympics stop and how did it start again?

The Olympics like many of the ancient Greek marvels, were lost when the Romans invaded in the 1st century BC. The idea of it was then totally lost until a Frenchman revived it in the late 19th century as an entertainment spectacle and way to keep people healthy.
