This question is confusing. I believe you meant why was the battle of Iwo Jima ended.
The battle ended because the Allied Forces defeated the Japanese during the battles on that Island. Most of the Japanese forces died and some escaped back to Japan or other islands. The Allied Forces were able to take back the two airfields. Some pilots made emergency landings before the airfield could be completed.
The name of Iwo Jima was changed by the Japanese after the war if you were referring to the name change. They did not want the island to retain its negative meaning name of Iwo Jima (I think it mean sulfur island but I am uncertain.)
Yes until 1965 when we gave it back to japan
The Battle Of Iwo Jima

Japan
Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
Iwo Jima was important to the Allies' Island-Hopping strategy with it's airfields and proximity to Japan .
Hmm. B-29 was an American bomber; not a Japanese. The US wanted to capture Iwo Jima so they could use the airstrips as a base for their B-29's and bomb Japan. But B-29's were not involved in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Mainly Iwo Jima.
Iwo Jima and Okinawa
It depicts the raising of the US flag on Mt. Suribachi, the highest point on Iwo Jima, during the battle to capture the island from Japan near the end of WW2. It is seen as a memorial to the Marines who died there.
The Allies dropped atom bombs on the island of Japan as a means to end the war with Japan. The bomb was dropped on the island of Iwo Jima. Many innocent civilians died as a result of this.
Iwo Jima and Okinawa both fit this description.
