Later, at the end of the war, the partisans captured Mussolini and executed him. Germany - Germany followed Hitler and fought until the country was completely conquered by the Russians approaching from the east and the Allies from the west. Hitler killed himself and the German army surrendered. Japan - The Allies knew the Japanese were preparing their citizens to fight to protect their country. The US dropped 2 atomic bombs on Japan and they were convinced that further fighting was futile. They surrendered on the USS Missouri to General MacArthur.

World War Two ended when the Axis powers of Germany, Japan and Italy were forced to surrender. Japan surrendered after the US dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Germany was forced to surrender as Allied troops invaded it from the east and the west. Italy surrendered during the war. It was overcome by allied forces. The three surrenders were is sequence and based on the military situation at the time of surrender.
