If you are referring to the Battle of Concord on April 19, 1775, there was a substantial store of military supplies (cannon, muskets, gunpowder, food, etc.) there and also John Hancock and Samuel Adams were staying there and the British hoped to arrest them.

∙ 9y agoIn April of 1775, British units were sent to Concord (Massachusetts), some 20 miles north of their station in Boston, in order to accomplish two objectives. First, they were to uncover and destroy arms hidden in the town. Second, they were to identify and arrest, if possible, several key rebel leaders rumored to be hiding in or around the town.
