beacause she wouldnt give up her seat to a white person
The bus driver called the police on Rosa Parks because she refused to give up her seat to a white passenger, which was against the segregation laws in Montgomery, Alabama at the time. This act of civil disobedience by Parks sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott and became an important moment in the Civil Rights Movement.

At the time of her arrest, Rosa Parks and her husband were members of the NAACP, and Rosa was a secretary for the Montgomery chapter. Edgar Nixon, the local president of the NAACP was called and he and her lawyer, Clifford Durr, bailed her out the next day.
I wouldn't call her stand against racism a mistake.
"I'd see the bus pass every day. But to me, that was a way of life; we had no choice but to accept what was the custom. The bus was among the first ways I realized there was a black world and a white world." -Rosa Parks I have learned over the years that when one's mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear. -Rosa Parks

Well, anecdotal evidence suggests that Rosa Parks husband often referred to her as his "boo." However, in his later years, Mr. Parks would call her "the bus lady" because he had severe Alzheimer's and couldn't always remember her name. He might not have been able to remember her name, but he could always remember that valiant act of bravery all those years ago. So, really, "the bus lady" was a term of endearment.
