US wanted to trade with the other countries causing them to get involved in the war
The European countries involved in World War I had long standing alliances and treaties, through familial and diplomatic relations. Once the Austro-Hungarian empire fired on Serbia, all the alliances were called in, causing more and more countries to enter into the war.

I don't think it was a matter of choice for many. The world as a whole did not enter, the individual countries that did however, did so in accordance with their own interests or beliefs.
Every country in the world has its own entry and exit requirements. There are no countries that a resident of Ghana can enter without a visa.

They can't they are a club not a country. Only countries enter the world cup.
The gain of The Triple Alliance (Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy) and the Triple Entente which involved many countries such as Serbia and Germany. The US got involved a while after the assisnation of Austria-Hungary's ambassador. The US mainly got involved to stop the mistreatment of the innocent.
The U.S. was never unable to enter World War 2. It had the resources and manpower. The reason why the U.S. didn't enter the war at first is because they wanted to remain neutral rather than get involved in foreign affairs.
