There were deep class divisions (Stratified: divided at diffident levels) in St. Domnigue in 1789, around the same time the French Revolution. The Mulattoes has lost the status they had been granted by the Code Noir (Black Code) yet many were prosperous and were great landowners and slave owners,but treated inferior to the Whites. They grew tired of this and secretly gave the Black Negro slaves weapons to kill the WHITES and the slaves turned on them and yada yada blah blah blah e_e ....so started the Haitian Revolution.
