There were three main reasons :
In hindsight, releasing a general warning to the public not to touch any balloons might have saved the only victims of the scheme, but that is no guarantee that they would have gotten the message in that remote area, or even recognized what they found.
Yes, by the British from Canada in 1812. Also, in 1916, the guerrilla general Pancho Villa attacked the US from Mexico, and the US was attacked by Japanese balloon bombs during World War 2, but the War of 1812 was the largest military attack on the US mainland.
the Japanese people were almost exterminated because of the bombs.
If you were in the US, you were either drafted into the military or sent to Japanese Internment Camps. If you were in Japan, you were either drafted into the military or sent to POW like camps.
They sent in aircrafts with bombs to attack different targets. They were trying to attack the military bases.
The USA dropped 2 Atomic Bombs on Japan, at Hiroshima, and at Nagasaki. The US used the Atomic bomb to weaken the Japanese military strength as the Japanese still had an army about 5 million strong, but after the strikes the Japanese surrendered unconditionally. The US dropped the bombs in preperation of the proposed invasion of the Japanese mainland. This opertion never happened. The US high command wanted to defeat Japan at the minimum cost of lives as the Japanese army was still strong.
they want to keep us out of the war
Yes by Japanese balloon bombs
The balloon bombs are true, they killed one person, they were meant and designed to cause large forest fires....
bombing their towns(horishima) with atomic bombs.

Because the atomic bombs killed many more Japanese civilians than it did military personel.
No. Japanese military was already in its knees when the bombs were dropped.
No, the Japanese military did not drop any bombs on the USA after the atomic bombs were used on Japan. The bombs and pending invasion by the Soviets and the Americans (and allies) motivated the Emperor Hirohito to surrender to the Allied Forces.

No, at no time have the Japanese ever had atomic bombs!
This question should be narrowed down to which war. In the War of 1812, the British burned down the White House, as well as every other standing structure; with the exception of the US Marine Corps Barracks...legend says that the British left those standing out the respect they had for the US Marine Corps. During WW2, Japanese Troops landed on, and occupied portions of the state of Alaska (although it was a US Territory at the time). Japanese Balloon Bombs floated across North America; a deeply classified military secret to keep people from panicking. Even today, the US doesn't want people to know "much" about those Balloon Bombs. Japanese Submarines shelled the City of Santa Barbara, California...that had to be "played down." Japanese Submarines launched an airplane which bombed Brookings, Oregon...that had to be "played down."
The invasion of Japan would have cost the US one million military lives, it has also been estimated that it would have cost the Japanese at least one million military lives also this does not include the loss of Japanese civilians.
