She was followed by five others in January 1861 which included Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana. Texas would follow suit on February 1. These states met in convention at Montgomery, Alabama February 4 and formed the Confederate States of America before the end of that month. The convention adopted their constitution on the 8th, and elected the provisional President, Jefferson F. Davis, and Vice President, Alexander Stephens on the 10th with Davis being inaugurated on the 18th of February. This all happened between the time Abraham Lincoln was elected in November, 1860 and his inauguration on March 4, 1861.

The Conferederate Sates of America is what they were called. I'll leave it at that.
