The fact is, according to Bible prophecy that we are living in the end times. Matthew chapter 24, Luke chapter 21, Mark chapter 13, and 2 Timothy 3:1-5 all give striking evidence that we are seeing right now. As far as whether to have children, seek higher education, etc, that has been enumerated, the Watchtower organization never gave strict admonishment to not do these things. If there was ever anything that was stated or printed that may have led one to believe that we are not to do these things, it was an error. This organinzation has never claimed infallibilty, unlike other religious organizations. Often when an error is brought to the attention of clergy of many faiths, they will often try to cover it over with other misapplied information. Jehovah's Witnesses do not claim to have all the answers or to always be right about everything all the time. Our faith and understanding is a progressively growing one, just like Proverbs 4:18 says it should be. that scripture says: "But the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established." Early in our history, we held some ideas that have been seen since to be incorrect. For example, we believed that the instrument Jesus died on was a cross. Since then, we have come to understand that the Romans used an upright pole or stake for execution, and that the meaning of the Greek words used in the earliest writings of The Bible available mean stake or pole. Also, up until about 100 years ago, we celebrated Christmas. Now we know that Christmas is a pagan celebration to the sun-god. Today, Jehovah's Witnesses realize that we may need further education to survive in this world. However, we should never lose sight of the fact that we are living in the last days according to the Bible and that our main focus needs to always be on preaching about God's Kingdom. As far as having children, that has always been and remains a personal decision by those wanting to be parents. However, Jesus did say at Luke 21:23,"Woe to the pregnant women and the ones suckling a baby in those days! For there will be great necessity upon the land and wrath on this people." Those words had a direct fullfillment on the Jews living in Jerusalem back then as the Romans were about to destroy the city, but his words are also important today as we are facing the greatest time of turmoil ever to come apon mankind. Jesus said at Matthew 24:21,22 that there would be a "great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world's beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short." Since there is to be such a great tribulation that is coming apon mankind, we must keep our focus and our sences. This includes being very careful about what we burden our lives with. That is also why JW's are encouraged to keep our lives simple by not going all out after material pursuits. There are some of JW''s that voluntarily postpone marriage so that they can enter the full-time ministry, some of which even enter the foreign missionary service. Some JW''s do sell their homes to move where the need is greater. I recently read about an example of a young married couple who sold their home, bought a travel trailer, and moved 900 miles to Louisianna so that they could help people recover from the Hurricane Katriina disaster. They lived there for over a year to help rebuild homes annd restore lives. I would say that acts such as this should be praised, don't you?

Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe they can have my property after Armageddon?

As Witnesses believe that ''only Jehovah's Witnesses ...have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan'' (Watchtower 1st Sept 1989 page 19) and assuming that the asker of the question is not and never becomes a Jehovah's Witness, then it is logical to assume that, after Armageddon, the asker would not be in a position to stop a Witness survivor of Armageddon from having the asker's property. In my experience I have heard some Witnesses express this view.

Why is the watchtower advising against higher education for Jehovah Witnesses?

The Watchtower Magazine published by Jehovah's Witnesses alerts its readers as to the possible dangers of higher education. While the ultimate decision is up to the individual (and many Jehovah's Witnesses have indeed chosen to pursue further education) the Watchotower encourages its readers to consider the spiritual consequences of this course as well look to biblical principles. The fact of the matter is that when we consider the life of Jesus Christ, he was a very simple man and he made the teaching of Jehovahs word the prime thing in his life.considering the spiritual dangers associated with higher education; rampant immorality drug usage and the likes are what J.Ws want to avoid.Remember that as humans we can be compared to sponges, we tend to absorb whatever be it good or bad. That is why after careful biblical consideration the watchtower deemed it right to advise to avoid higher education. Also it robs one of the much needed time to preach
