The reason wy they name it the airplane is because of the way they fly. Basically everyone knows an airplane is a machinery. How did they get the name "Airplane".? Because of scientist thinking of a way to fly. Since builds can fly, many humans thought about flying. Many people wanted to fly so Wilbur and Orville Wright, invented the Wright brother's plane. Since it went up in the air for 12 seconds. If drifted by Kittyhawk for at 30 sec. of flying. Airplane only can fly from three main system. DRIFT, LIFT, and Drag. that's how airplane get its name. Air means in the "air machine, Plane means system. AIRPLANE means air system.

the wings are planes

they cause the plane to be held up by air passing over them and under them
