The United States and The Soviet Union dissagreed on the Future of Eastern Europe.
When the axis were on their knees in January 1945, it was time for the US & USSR to prepare for the next enemy...and the next war (cold war).
The WWII wartime alliance (known as the Grand Alliance) between the U.S. and the Soviet Union began to unravel for multiple reasons, including that the U.S. was upset that Joseph Stalin, the Soviet leader, had signed a nonaggression pact with Germany in 1939. Additionally, Stalin blamed the Allies for not invading German-occupied Europe earlier than 1944. Stalin also felt that the Soviet Union never received its due from the Allies regarding the territorial gains that the Soviet Union made in 1939.

after world war two the decline of europe power was shared betweent the united states and the soviet union.
In 1939, Germany and the Soviet Union signed the Non Aggression Pact. This was basically a document that said that neither country would attack the other during wartime. This was broken in 1941 when Hitler and his army invaded the Soviet Union in Operation Barbarossa; this was Hitler's fatal mistake.

Because the Soviet Union wanted to spread communism, but the Americans did not want that so they stopped being the Soviet Union's ally.

The Berlin "Airlift" put the US Forces on wartime alert, as we were not sure of Soviet intentions...if they were going to use their military or not.

There were four basic origins to the Cold War between the former Soviet Union and the Allies. The first origin was the Russian Revolution, the second was the Interwar Diplomacy, the third was the start of World War 2, and the fourth was Wartime Alliance.
