This action of Hinduism is due to lack of "Spiritual Knowledge"."God" is only a Spiritual term with a secret inner meaning.According to this inner meaning, "God" is an INDIVISIBLE(unable to be divided or separated), everlasting Omnipresent one!
Because Hindus belief is that Supreme God takes different Incarnation (avatāra) to help humanity. Thus according to different situations Supreme God takes different forms.
