Why did you test positive for benzodiazepines while taking septra ds?

im not sure i tested positive while taking septra an a few other antibiotics and prednisone. i have been clean for 13 months and now in limbo with a drug test sent to the lab. i know that i didn't take any benzoodiazepines but i guess i will have to wait to see what the lab has to say. i hope its a false positive cause i'm looking at prison time if it doesn't.

Not mix with methadone?
You should avoid benzodiazepines and ETOH (alcohol) while taking methadone. Methadone, benzodiazepines and alcohol are all respiratory suppressants combining any of these three can lead to respiratory arrest and possibly death.

The pill septra is an antibiotic and should only be used in pregnancy when completely necessary. It should not really be used near full term but your Doctor is the best person to answer this as i am sure they know what they are doing. If still unsure why not ask a pharmacist as they are the ones who specialise in drugs and pharmacology.
Why can you take Suboxone if you are taking benzodiazepines?
Because benzodiazepines are not opiates. They are...benzodiazepines. Suboxone only blocks the effects of opiate drugs. Although, you should be careful taking benzodiazepines (Valium, Xanax) with Suboxone. As they are both depressants, taking too much of them together could cause an overdose. Actually, you can even take opiates while you are on Suboxone. You won't be able to get high on them, but they will still work as painkillers (although you might have to double your dosage of the painkiller). A couple of years ago I had a root canal and they gave me Vicodin for it, but I had to take double doses of the Vicodin, and cut my Suboxone dose in half, in order to get enough relief from the pain.

It has a longer half-life in relation to Xanax so it will stay in your system longer than Xanies, and it will defiantly test positive. Drink a gallon of water, take a couple of B-12 vitamins and you may be able to skate by...if it's an issue specifically related to Xanax the only thing you can do is send the urine to a lab and they can definitively prove which drug is in your system.
