Could be, logically an electrical system failure and possibly a preventive automatic shut-down to prevent further trouble. Check your Battery, I don"t drive but know a lot about cars. Sounds like an electrical problem.
Put the vehicle in neutral and shut it off. ---------- Make absolutely certain when you shut the car off that you don't rotate the key back too far or you will lock the steering wheel and be unable to steer the car. Just turn the key far enough to shut off the engine. Be careful. -------------- Just another thought... once you shut off the motor the car will be very difficult to steer and brake as the power steering and brake systems will be shut down.
Push all the door locks down manually and then lock the drivers door with your key if it will not stay locked when you push the lock down and shut the door.
No
Yes it is sensible.
Your cars immobilizer is most likely the culprit. It locks the steering wheel when the key is not in the ignition. This mechanism can wear down and lock up the wheel.
the steering lock should be off IE. key in and turned. This is to allow the steering wheel to rotate as the vehicles negotiate bends
Viper Car Alarms will also shut the engine down.
Is the steering lock on? Jiggle the wheel when you turn the key.
Every production car from the 1970's on has a steering lock with the possible exception of some current model cars (2009 and newer).
I don't know why it does this but to stop it all you do is hold the lock button for 10seconds
because a seat belt might be jammed
The battery is still providing power. After awhile, it too will shut down, as has the engine. I would say you have a worn out Key or lock. Note that car ignition has 4 stages. You can readLockRadioOnStart.Lock will lock the steering wheel. At on the dashboard lights come on. At start, the engine starts and dashboard lights go off. Though not indicated between Lock and On is the radio. Normally the radio should go off immediately you switch off and remove the key. Sometimes if your key or your lock is worn out, the key can come out even when the car is on. So the reason your radio is left on is because you have not switched off completely though your key is off. To make sure the car is completely off, make sure you have locked the steering column. Otherwise you will find the battery is down.
