There are a number of reasons why your period might stop suddenly. For one, there are some young girls (and you may be one of them) who do not have a regular menstrual cycle. They may skip a month or even two months, and then start up again. Another reason is you might be pregnant-- getting pregnant causes a cessation of the menstrual cycle in most young women, although there may be some occasional spotting. A third possibility is a pelvic disease, especially one that causes inflammation; small cysts on the ovaries can also cause the period to stop or become irregular. If you are not pregnant, then your period has stopped or become irregular for one of these other reasons-- all of which are treatable. Please see your doctor, and get an exam, to determine what is causing this situation and the best way to treat it.
