One reason is that he planned a very large and evidence packed book but while he went slowly toward this Alfred Russel Wallace came up with a very similar theory, so Darwin published what he considered an abstract. Another reason was that Darwin knew very well that religious, and to a lesser extent, opposition to what was called '' transformation '' of species.
Charles Darwin Little know fact: Alfred Russel Wallace simuntaneously produced his theory of evolution, very similar to Darwin's, around the same time as Darwin. Darwin and Wallace agreed in a series of letters that Darwin's theory would be published first and given priority dradit because it was composed first and Wallace didn't want to catch the flax that would ensure from the religious community (Darwin had a much higher standing as a Naturalist and would be given more creedance anyways)
it conducts. or did you want the full solid state physics theory behind that?
lamarcks theory of natural selection was accepted as they believed in religion and didnt want to believe anything other than god created our planet. darwin believed in evolution and plants and animals develop without the aid of intelegent creater through natural selection. lamarcks believed animals changed to fit there habitat for eample a girrafe reached for tall tree's and eventually grew into tall necks. At this period of time niether lamarck are darwin new about genes and in that so came up with these theories. hope this helps xoxox
Darwin's father, Robert Darwin, wanted him to become a physician. He sent Darwin to study medicine at the University of Edinburgh, but Darwin found the lectures on surgery to be particularly gruesome.
Charles Darwin did not coin the concept of evolution, but he is famously known for developing the theory of evolution by natural selection. Evolution as a concept had been discussed by earlier scientists and philosophers before Darwin. Darwin's contribution was to provide a comprehensive explanation for how evolution occurs through the mechanism of natural selection.

The US may have looked like a "paper tiger' to the world after Vietnam...but the communists (USSR & Red China) didn't want to "push their luck."

Charles Darwin was curious about the diversity of life on Earth and wanted to understand the processes that drive it. He wanted to explain the patterns he observed in nature such as variations among species and the relationship between different organisms. By investigating evolution, Darwin aimed to provide a scientific explanation for the origin and development of species over time.
