19th July 1553, after the death of her half-brother Edward VI and the deposing of Lady Jane Grey, the Nine days Queen.
Elizabeth l of England. Mary l of England. Edward Vl of England
Because Queen Elizabeth I's Brother Edward VI and sister Mary I both died childless before she did.
The successor to Edward VI was Queen Mary I.
Because Edward VI and Mary I had different mothers, they were brought up to follow different beliefs (Mary's mother was Catherine of Aragon = Catholic & Edward's mother was Jane Seymour = Protestant) Edward VI was a puritan ( a Protestant extremist) and Mary I was a Catholic extremist, so this was all about religion; Edward VI had made England a very Protestant country and he knew that if his half sister Mary I successed him that she would make England a Catholic country. This is why he did not want her to become Queen of England. Hope this helps :)
Lady Jane was the great-granddaughter of Henry VII, so she was a cousin of Edward VI. When he was dieing he was persuaded to proclaim Lady Jane Grey as heir to the throne instead of his sister Mary (a Catholic) or illegitimate Elizabeth
She was a Catholic, he was Protestant.
mary and edward
Mary 1 became queen because elizebeth did not want to be queen anymore
When King Henry Died,His son Edward VI came to the throne. then when Edward died 4 years later, Mary I (bloody Mary) became Queen, and then when she died, the wonderful virgin queen,Queen elizabeth I came to the throne.
She had one daughter who became Queen Mary. Mary was one of three legitimate children sired by Henry VIII. Mary's half-sister was Elizabeth who became Queen Elizabeth, and Mary's half-brother was Edward who became King Edward.
