American Jewish organizations did not want to risk giving any impression that they might be putting Jewish concerns before the American national interest, especially as America was at war.

As far as I'm aware, no major American Jewish organization tried to put pressure on the U.S. government during the war. It is said that they asked the government to bomb the railways in the Auschwitz area, but there is no record of any such request from any Jewish organization ...
