The guillotine
Great Britain.
Great Britain.
Great Britain used up all of their money during the war, so they had to find some way of earning it all back. That is why they began to tax the colonists sugar and other goods. The colonists didn't like this, so they started to separate from Britain and boycott the goods the British sold them.
The colonies becamecompletely autonomous from Great Britain and considered themselves their own entity with their own established government body. However, this autonomous attitude of the colonies also lead to the American Revolution because after the 7 years war (French & Indian war) the colonists had a bad taste in their mouths from Britain's forceful attempt to make the colonists side with them against France. After the war, the GB began to renege on the policy of salutary neglect and thus the many "tax" acts were set in place. At this point the colonists began to revolt against GB's sudden hands on approach and the Revolutionary war began.
The French and Indian War was fought to decide if Britain or France would be the strong power in North America. France and its colonists and Indian allies fought against Britain, its colonists and Indian allies. The war began with conflicts about land.
The colonists were furious. Because the English government began taxing items that were transported from Great Britain, the colonists refused to buy any products. Very soon, the English government had to stop the stamp act, or go bankrupt.
After 1763, the British imposed unfair taxes on the colonists. They colonists began to feel that they were being exploited by Britain.
Parliment did this for a couple of reasons. Firstly, some believed that the colonists should help pay for the expenses of the army sent during the French-Indian war to protect the colonists. Also, under mercantilism, Britain wanted to use the raw supplies of America to fuel their industry. The Proclamation of 1763 was the start of the end of salutary neglect for the colonists as Britain began taking a more active role in governing the colonies.
When colonists started growing tobacco
the colonists were mistreated by king george, he forced the sugar act, the stamp act, and the intolerable acts on them, the colonists were sick of it..The"govornment" decided to separate from Britain John Adams suggested that George Washington be the leader of the colonial "army" (all volunteers and colonists, untrained) some colonists did not want freedom from Britain so Thomas payne wrote the pamphlet "Common Sense".. to persuade the clonists to go for freedom, this was widely published throughout many countries, so people from other countries would help them fight the British, this began the American Revolution.
