Even though Jupiter is made of gas, it has a very high mass and a very large density (compared to gasses we see in everyday life).
Because of gravitational effects from Jupiter.
Because it is the brightest planet. You would think its because its the biggest but the ancient Romans didnt have telescopes so they didnt know how big Jupiter is. They just saw how bright it is ( it outshines even Sirius ( The North Star)) and named it after their king of gods.

There have been no man made robots or landers to land on Pluto yet. A probe called New Horizons is on it's way, it should finally get to Pluto in 2015, but won't land. It will fly by and take pictures.

Oh, dude, Jupiter and Mars are both planets in our solar system, so that's pretty cool. They're both made of rock and gas, but like, Jupiter is way bigger than Mars - like, it's the big brother of the two. So, yeah, they're similar in some ways, but also totally different sizes.
im chrisitian so i dont belive that it came from that.theory says that it came from when the solar system was made it was parts made for planets that gravity didnt make into a planet or were almost planets but didnt get there before getting tugged apart it could also be parts of a super planet that was blown up
