Why didnt the 10 commandments say anything about blasphemy?

But they did. Blasphemy is any behaviour, wherther verbal or physical that is disrespectful to God. The third commandment - 'you shall not take the name of the Lord in vain' means exactly that - being disrespectful to the name of God. So when someone says 'Jesus Christ!' as a swear word, or shouts 'For Christ's sake...!' or 'For God's sake...!' then they are not simply breaking the third commandment, but, by their disrespectful verbal abuse of God, they are blaspheming. Indirectly they do. The first four commandments of the ten commandments deal with mans relationship with God. The verse in Exodus 20:7, King James Bible states: "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.". It appears verse seven covers blasphemy. If not the commandment in Deuteronomy 6:5; "And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." Should cover blasphemy as well. In Mark 3:29 we read, "But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.". So to blaspheme against God, The Lord, and the Holy Ghost is a sin and the consequence for that will surely be realised. I guess to blaspheme against anyone else is a sin as well because by doing so the commandment to love thy neighbour as thyself, is broken. Remember we are speaking from a spiritual, religious standpoint. In a purely secular perspective, to blaspheme may be a hideously disrespectful thing to say but if the words used do not defame anyone or break the laws of the particular country one lives in, then it would not be an offence.
