Is it possible to remove Vaseline from a fabric covered chair which is so thick it has soaked the foam pad or must I reupholster?

First remove as much excess Vaseline as possible using a spoon to scoop the jelly towards the center of the stain. Apply a commercial cleaning solvent (check for color safeness first) or rubbing alcohol. Allow about 15-30 minutes for the jelly to break down and blot with a clean white cloth. Continue to blot, using a clean spot on the cloth, until no more Vaseline transfers to the cloth. Application of the solvent and blotting may be repeated until no more jelly is able to be removed. Mix one tablespoon Dawn dish detergent with one cup lukewarm water and spray on the area. Blot and repeat as needed. Use plain warm water spray and clean cloth to rinse the detergent residue.

How do you wash cloth diaper covers using a dry pail?

Caring for diapers stored in a dry pail - first run a cold rinse cycle that is very short only about 10 minutes to rinse off any soil left on the cloth diaper and to keep any stains from setting. Run a full hot wash with less than the recommended amount of detergent & then add an extra cold rinse cycle to ensure all detergetn is out of the diapers. Any irritation to baby's bum is typically due to detergent left in the diaper.
