Climactic adaptations. The continent of Africa was the cradle of humanity. As people migrated to colder climates, noses narrowed because the air was colder.Breathing in large amounts of cold air causes bronchial spasms. Hair became straighter and longer to protect ears and neck from the cold.Same with skin color. People closer to the Equator needed more melanin to protect them from the sun. Scandinavian peoples have less intense sun, and long , dark winter days, so don't need as much melanin.
So that it can protect the scalp from extreme sunlight

I am from the Philippines, a part of Southeast Asia, and I knew that some people there have inborn curly hair (not kinky). There are also ethnic group there called locally as Negritos or Aetas that have kinky hair much like black Africans but a little bit smaller in physical appearance.
You can get twists, but they would most likely look like Senegalese twists. The "kinky" part of kinky twists comes from either having natural hair or added kinky textured hair. They will not look like the traditional kinky twists.
Kinky hair is tighter, and usually a different texture (like African hair).
