A principle belief is that simplicity brings them closer to God. As a result, anything that might be considered a form of vanity is rejected. Acts like driving cars, having a TV, wearing makeup, having electricity and fans, are considered vanity. Too much education can be vain as well and they usually only allow their children to attend formal school until the age of 15.
Amish are so so simple because they do not have to worry about all the electricity
The Amish and Mennonites have very few difference. Mennonites will however have electricity, running water, and running cars where Amish will not.
The Amish don't say The Pledge Of Allegiance. However in a public school and Amish child would say it.
The Amish have no problem with electricity, but they worry about what electricity can bring to their homes, such as radio, television, and other things that may connect them with the people they consider "outsiders." They want to be as little connected with "outsiders" as possible. However, some Amish bishops allow a few families to have electric lighting.
The Amish choose not to embrace technological innovations like electricity and the Internet. The Amish lifestyle avoids any conformity to the ways of the modern world and it's culture. A reliance on electricity (and definitely use of the internet) signifies a conformation.
no they don't Amish don't either
Old and new order Amish do. However some other types of Amish do use ice boxes.
Some Amish people still go without electricity but I don't know how they do it!
