Well that's only an opinion. It's true that there are many bronies with talent in music like Alex S, The Living Tombstone, MictheMic, WoodenToaster, etc. Howerver, just like all music, it isn't that they are any better at this than anyone else. It's just that they have a style of music that many like. But it's still an opinion. There exist those who probably think they're terrible. And most brony musicians are also the same age as many young musicians today who do the same thing, but without a pony message. Bronies are famously known not only for watching mlp, but the fact that they are a huge "creative" fandom. There are millions making art, stories, music, memes, videos, etc. So it's statistically likely that with so much music being made, something is bound to come out that is good, and make you ask the question you asked.

No. Trekkies are one the the largest fandoms. The My Little Pony fandom may be growing faster but the Star Trek fandom has had decades to become well established. Bronies may seem to pop up more often online because their fandom is largely internet based, probably more so than the bronies as Star Trek predates the world wide web.
