As She is the Mother of God- naturally She is identified with families, Marriages, and so on. Matrimony has Matrix ( in this context- Mother ) in the title. Much is made of Mary"s maternal role in the church- and this is included with Mother"s Day( always in Her month- May) but goes far beyond. No other saint has as many titles, attributes and hymns. Even Joan of Arc and Saint Patrick ( both national patrons) at best may have one or two official songs- but one can fill entire hymnals with Marian hyms- which Luther opposed.

She didn't do anything except for give him birth, while Jesus was cruciied and died so we could live. i think catholics shouldn't devote themselves to mary. Not at all.
